eSynergy collect, treat and recycle all types of commercial fridges, freezers and temperature-controlled equipment.
We offer a low cost treatment and recycling service that provides you with all the correct paperwork, from start to finish, in order for your business to be legally compliant.
We offer nationwide collections: no project is too big or too small. This includes weekend and out-of-hours jobs, using our own curtain-sided trailers and Moffett vehicles to assist with loading, if required.
Collections can be arranged from organisations anywhere within the UK. Our ‘Best Available Technology’ safely separates equipment into components and removes hazardous materials.
Our industry leading processes and operations keep your business within regulatory requirements
We’ll collect your difficult hazardous waste and recycle it, saving you the headache
We offer competitive price structures which work with your business. Dependant on volumes and material type we can offer rebates on certain types of commercial, supermarket refrigeration.
Step-by-Step
Preparation
Any food, liquids, trays and shelves are removed from the fridges and freezers and sent on for further recycling.
Stage 1 Removal of Refrigerant Gas and Oil
Ozone-depleting substances (ODS) such as CFCs and and high Global Warming Potential gases (GWP) such as HFCs, are removed at the beginning of the recycling process. These are extracted under strong vacuum to remove >99% of the oil gas mixture as required by BATRRT.
The refrigerant oil is then purified to the standard required by BATRRT by heating the oil under vacuum vaporising any remaining refrigerants dissolved in the oil. The compressors are removed and recycled.
Pre-Shredding
Large commercial fridge units are lowered into an encapsulated shredding chamber subject to process gas monitoring, inertisation by gaseous nitrogen and activated carbon abatement of solvent blowing agents.
Secondary Shredding
The pre shred material is delivered to an encapsulated cross-flow shredder subject to process gas monitoring and cryogenic condensation of solvent blowing agents. Any ODS, high GWP and flammable gases are liberated and captured during this stage.
Air Classification
Metal and plastic fractions are separated by density then transported via a series of screw conveyors for bagging. The suction cleans the materials of any remaining dust residue.
Magnetic Separation
A overband magnet separates ferrous from non-ferrous metals. An eddy current system then classifies the non-ferrous metals.
Thermal Decomposition of Residues
A pyrolysis system thermally converts the non-recyclable insulation foam residues into heat and power.
Materials Export
Plastics and metals are sorted into separate containers and shipped off for reprocessing into new products.
